Take
the N1 toll-road to Polokwane (Pietersburg). Before reaching Polokwane
turn right onto the R71 and head for Tzaneen. After Tzaneen head
towards Phalaborwa and the gate.
Shimuwini Bush Camp is 50 km away from the gate. Allow about 2 hours
for the drive to the bush camp.
Olifants Main Rest Camp is 83 km away from the gate. Allow about
3 hours for the drive to the camp.

hours for the drive to the camp.

Best
to at least double these times for best game viewing chances. If
time allows pull over at a waterhole and just sit and wait and see
what appears. You will be pleasantly surprised!
Alternative
Gates Punda Maria Gate
Take the N1 to Polokwane (Pietersburg). At Makhado (Louis Trichard)
link up with the R524 and follow this route for ±140 km. That will
take you to the gate. Allow between 5 to 6 hours for the trip to
the gate.
Punda Maria Rest Camp is 10 km away from the gate. Allow about 20
minutes for the drive to the camp, however if you want to enjoy
the game viewing possibilities give yourself more time!
